Programmatic Accreditation

Introduction

Programmatic Accreditation evaluates specific schools or programs within an education institution (e.g., the Business school, the Pharmacy College, the Nursing program). The Program specific standards for these programs are developed by the professionals specialised in each discipline and ensuring to fulfill the course outcome according to the international standards.

IAPHEI Accreditation generally evaluates the content and quality of the program against the standards set by the professional bodies. The purpose of this accreditation is to guarantee the student that appropriate knowledge and skill areas are included and the program meets professional bodies accepted standards.

The IAPHEI only accredits programs that lead to degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels in higher education institutions worldwide.

The IAPHEI ’s quality assurance process involves a comprehensive set of accreditation principles pertaining to measures of academic resources and educational processes as well as outcomes assessment. These principles are based on best practices in education and are designed to promote excellence in education through a benchmarking process, which is helpful in determining the extent to which the academic unit is achieving its mission and its student learning and operational goals.

Accreditation Process

Initial programmatic accreditation starts by sending a Letter of Interest signed by the Head of the Institution along with the eligibility application obtained from IAPHEI from which IAPHEI will determine the applicant is eligible and falls within the scope of the accreditation. After receiving the eligibility, an agreement should be signed and the institution should do a Self-Evaluation Study about the Institution. The Self-Evaluation template can be obtained by contacting IAPHEI.

Following this, Peer Review Team consists of three members will arrange three day on site visit. After the peer review team submits the final report about the site visit, the final evaluation and decision will be undertaken by the Accreditation Committee and the Accreditation Council. According to this decision, the institution will be granted accreditation for a 5-year period with or without conditions, or accreditation will be rejected. Read the process mentioned below.
